Who We Support: MusicBizz Fizz

July 11, 2010 Leave a comment

MusicBizz Fizz is a blog run by none other than Dan Beck, the former SVP of Marketing at Epic Records. It is filled with stories of first hand experiences with musicians that he has previously worked with including Michael Jackson, Ozzy Osbourne, Indigo Girls, Gloria Estefan and many more. Not only does he give you some insight into the music industry and the way it works but his first hand accounts sort of give you this “I-can-be-him-in-the-future” attitude. After all, he was only twenty six when he was working alongside Aerosmith. You can read up on a rather entertaining tale of him being almost scared stiff after flying to Boston in a horrible snow storm with the rock band here.

After reading such autobiographies such as Slash and The Heroin Diaries, I have acquired a fondness towards such writings that include first hand accounts of working with or in notorious bands. Not that I have ever been a die-hard fan of Aerosmith but it is quite easy to say that I do love a lot of their popular singles. But that’s neither here nor there. Dan provided a rather intriguing and humorous tale of being stuck on a plane that shouldn’t have even taken flight in such treacherous weather with an impatient rock band. It also kind of taught me a lesson… either wait for another flight that doesn’t include the band or try to keep them as comfortable and as patient as possible.

But on top of that, it also reminded me that a job in the music industry does not go without complications… including the complications that have you staying up all night and having to work the next day. Being successful in such a tough industry means you have to such up your attitude and put your nose to the grindstone, no matter the circumstances.

A Tiny Update

July 11, 2010 2 comments

Okay, number one, I just checked the stats on this site and we are still pulling in an insanely large number of viewers for whatever reason. This truly amazes me. We love all of you that have dropped by and checked out what we have had to say. After much consideration, solely done on my part, I decided that we are going to keep this WordPress page open. Expect updates from either myself or Marky in the near future. However, our tumblr page will continue to be up and running. Consider it a page of visuals of all of the things we like… or more like what I like since Marky is nowhere to be found on there… HAHA!

Thank you all for the continued support. We wouldn’t be at over 1800 page views without your help.

We NEED Your Help!!!!!!

June 17, 2010 Leave a comment

Ok so after much consideration last night, I was thinking of moving Teplicity over to Tumblr. Realize now, that everything we have posted so far will NOT be dragged over to Tumblr. That is honestly too much work but I may make an exception and go through posts we have already done and take out important ones to copy and paste on Tumblr.

Basically, I want to know how many of you guys have Tumblr and if any of you have a problem with that website. My thinking behind everything was the fact that I love Tumblr and Tumblr gives off more of a community type of vibe. Plus, you can easily follow people and get updated constantly about what they are posting on your dashboard and it would make things a lot easier for us to “re-blog” things. It would make Teplicity a lot more personal when it comes to me and Marky.

Voice your opinions people! I wanna hear what you think.

Grindr: For All You Gay Single Men Out There

May 23, 2010 Leave a comment

Single and lonely are we? Looking to meet some new friends or hopefully find that knight in shining armor?

Then Grindr is for you! Grindr is a free gay social networking service for mobile devices.  The chatting service allows you to make a profile with picture display and allows you to add some basic info; for instance your name, age, and things you’re into. It also displays your location in a mile radius so that if meeting up with the person you are chatting with is possible you can go for it.

I discovered the service after a friend made me download the application for my iPhone. A few days spent seeing what Grindr was about and I gotta say that it’s not bad. Yes, there are a few guys that are looking for sex on it so beware, but if that’s not your scene there is a block button to get rid of the weirdos.

I’ve used it a few times and I’d have to give Grindr a thumbs up for networking. So all you singles out there that want to feel like maybe there is some one out there for you, give the chatting service a try.
