Pre-Teens Actually Have Talent?

May 26, 2010 Leave a comment

Move over Justin Beiber, the gate finally opened and Greyson Chance took his opportunity to run. After performing an astounding cover of “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga at his sixth grade festival that received over 20 million views so far, it is quite easy to say that this kid has an incredible talent. Not only does he already have a voice that I personally fell in love with but he also can play the piano and writes and composes his own music. Now, I don’t know about you but when I was twelve years old, the farthest thing from my mind was sitting down and writing a song.

However, Greyson has already been snatched up by the one and only Ellen DeGeneres who decided to start her own record label. I think sooner rather than later we will be hearing Greyson’s voice on the radio and personally, I’d rather hear him than Beiber any day of the week. We here at Teplicity wish him well and hope that he continues to find the love in what he does.

Congrats Greyson!

Sheldon Ray “Was It Worth It?”

May 23, 2010 Leave a comment

On December 15, 2009, Dream Hygh Entertainment held the Nu Soul R&B Showcase in the city. For those that didn’t get to make it, here is a video of Sheldon Ray destroying his song “Was It Worth It?”. He ended up winning the whole thing but after a performance like that, could you expect any different?

Five Towns College students are talent. There is no other way to put it. After all, Sheldon isn’t the only one from FTC… his three back-up singers (Branden, Ben, and Guylaire) along with the rest of his band all go to school with me. Sheldon Ray is another promised star that you all should keep your eye on.

It Was A Big Weekend: Mars Comes to Wales

May 23, 2010 Leave a comment

It was a long weekend for the guys from 30 Seconds to Mars but apparently worth it. The band traveled to Bangor, Wales all the way from Los Angeles to play 4 songs. Now, if that doesn’t show dedication I don’t know what does.

BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend Music Festival is taking place this weekend and features top name acts like: Alicia Keys, Lostprophets, Justin Beiber, MGMT, Kelly Rowland, Chiddy Bang, Rihanna, Ke$ha, Paramore, Vampire Weekend, Crystal Castles, along with 30 Seconds to Mars and many more. The guys put on a pretty good show minus Jared’s pretty poor vocals and all of the pre-teen girls that seemed to have made up most of the crowd. However, the guys seemed to be in pretty high spirits… especially Jared who joked about Justin Bieber and even declared the boy his son.

Either way, check out the interview above and find out the exact color of Jared’s hair and then peep the performance down below in the following links.

“Escape/This Is War”

“Closer to the Edge”

“The Kill”

“Kings and Queens”

New Eclipse Film Clip: Volturi Decide

May 23, 2010 Leave a comment

Another clip has been released for the up and coming Twilight movie installment Eclipse, which will debut in theatres on June 30th.

This clip has the Volturi looking on as Victoria’s newly born vampires cause havoc in the city and feast on the human citizens. The sinister undertone of this clip is quite welcoming to the usual lovey-dovey clips shown between Bella and Edward. Hopefully this clip will be proof that Eclipse will be less of a love story and more of an action movie. We can hope.

I Can’t Wait To Get You Home

May 22, 2010 Leave a comment

It’s amusing to me to see how bands blow up with one single or even a couple singles and then they sort of drop off the radar. Everyone and their mothers knew Shwayze’s hit singles “Corona And Lime” and “Buzzin” but once the hype was over, most people seemed to forget all about the duo including me.

During one of those days of searching the web for new music to listen to I stumbled across the fact that they released another album besides their self titled. In 2009, they released Let It Beat, an album produced almost in its entirety by Cisco Adler and written mostly by Shwayze and Cisco. However, Let It Beat strayed away from their acoustic rock hip hop mash-up. While the album was just alright to me, I highly enjoyed “Get U Home”. It has a great beat and catchy lyrics so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Adam Lambert’s New Video

May 22, 2010 Leave a comment

I LOVE Adam Lambert. He has an amazing voice and has a sense of style that I have never seen before in a man. What I love the most about him though is how true he is to himself. He dances along to the beat of his own drummer and isn’t shy about anything he does. It’s very rare to find that in an individual, especially one who was in the spotlight for a very long time as a contestant on American Idol. However, Adam has definitely established himself in the industry, making more of a name for himself than the actual American Idol winner, Kris Allen.

Adam has already released three singles off of his album For Your Entertainment; “For Your Entertainment”, “Time For Miracles” and “Whataya Want From Me”. I enjoyed the videos immensely so when I noticed in a magazine at the grocery store today that he was making a new music video for “If I Had You”, I just had to look it up. While the video has yet to be released, I have found a video of behind the scenes footage and from what I can tell, it is going to look amazing.

As always, his clothing is out of the ordinary but entirely on point, making him look fierce as all hell. I can’t wait til it is released.

There’s No Getting Over You

I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I know anything about David Guetta because I really don’t. He hasn’t been an artist that I have experience with, however, I just had to put this video up.

This song is such a party track and made me bob my head with a smile on my face. The vocal display by Fergie and Chris Willis absolutely shocked me and surprisingly, their soaring vocals mix well with the techno/rap backing provided by LMFAO.

Quality song and quality video. I approve.

Studio Update From Craig Owens

May 21, 2010 2 comments

Craig Owens, previous lead singer of the popular post-hardcore band Chiodos, is working on his new album to be released by his new project. Today, thanks to Aaron Stern (current drummer for Craig’s new project and ex-drummer of Matchbook Romance), we got an inside look into the production of the new album along with some clips of the new songs.

From what I can hear, the new album is promising indeed. On top of that, he is working with John Feldmann who I know from his work with The Used. However, judging by looking at his long line of work with other bands, I know that Craig’s new album won’t disappoint and from the shit I heard with Chiodos’s new singer, I’m gonna put money on it that Craig’s will surpass anything that Chiodos releases in the future.

New “This Is War” Music Video Teaser

May 20, 2010 Leave a comment

The second teaser video for 30 Seconds to Mars’ new music video for “This Is War”.

It’s not that much different than the other one I posted but the new things that are shown still look amazing. I can’t wait til it is released! And rumor has it that they are releasing “This Is War” and “Closer To The Edge” at the same time.

I’m not sure what that means exactly but Jared Leto confirmed it himself right here.

Edward Cullen Gets Angry: New Eclipse Clip

May 20, 2010 Leave a comment

As I am sure that you all know, the new installment of the Twilight series called Eclipse is hitting theatres on June 30th. Now, some of you may not care, which is completely understandable, but the rest of you are probably like me and have to see every single tiny clip that is released.

I may be a couple hours behind but here is a new clip from Eclipse showing one highly pissed off Edward Cullen throwing words at Jacob Black while Bella lamely stands there trying to separate the boys. It is your typical “boys-fighting-over-girl” scene but it is nice for once to see that Robert Pattinson can actually appear angry.

Personally, I’d rather they released the Bella and Jacob make out scene but I guess this will just have to do.

And the whole thing about Kristen Stewart being pregnant is apparently just a rumor so you all can chill the fuck out.
